Collaboration Days May 2nd and May 3rd

ELAC Meeting: Our next ELAC (English Learner Advisory Committee) meeting will be Wednesday, May 3rd at 6:00 pm in the library.  On the agenda are College and Graduation Requirements as well as an introduction to Naviance.

Join Leigh’s Home and School Club:  We are currently seeking parents who would like to be a part of the HSC for the next school year. Parents are needed for our Nominating Committee, HSC Board and HSC Committees. The Nominating Committee consists of 5-6 people and is a short term role lasting approx. 3-4 weeks this spring. The HSC Board and Committees positions are elected annually (you can choose to join or lead a committee). Click here to learn how to put your name forward for a role, what the different roles entail, and why parents volunteer at Leigh. Please join us and help make a difference at Leigh. It takes a village - this is your village!

Staff Appreciation Week: We will be recognizing and appreciating all staff at Leigh for the week of May 1st -May 5th.  Consider having your students acknowledge a teacher or staff member that has had a positive impact on their Leigh experience.

Sports Booster Newsletter:  Read our April Sports Boosters newsletter - spring season highlights, winter sports All League athlete recognition, our athletes and coaches in the news, Leigh footballers at Levis stadium, items purchased with your donations... and more!

What Are Leigh Students Up To?

Leigh’s Symphonic Band received a "Superior" Rating at their festival last weekend at Monta Vista High School. Superior is the highest rating a group can receive in their given category. They received top ratings in 4 of 5 captions! This was only their second year at CMEA or a festival in general! These students have put in a tremendous amount of work that showed up today in a fantastic performance.

Just last week, one of Leigh's very own students traveled to Cambridge, Massachusetts for a chance to present some of her independent research at the MIT(Massachusetts Institute of Technology) Inspire Competition! Congratulations to sophomore Mrunali Manjrekar for receiving this exceptional opportunity and being chosen as one of 105 finalist projects out of over 1100 submissions worldwide!

This week Dani Wheeler was recognized by REACH Youth Scholarship for overcoming adversity and obstacles to reach her goals. She was awarded a $3,000 scholarship. Dani’s family, several of them from the County DHOH program, Jake Shaughnessy, and prominent community members from BAWSI attended to support Dani. What an incredible morning recognizing youth from all over Santa Clara County where award winners were recognized by Ronnie Lott and Brandi Chastain, co-chairs of the committee.
