Save Our Students (SOS)
Thanks to the generosity and funding of Home and School Club and Xilinx, our crisis counseling service is up and running. We are able to have a crisis counselor here for an additional 12 hours each week. This means that there is help at hand Tuesday through Friday, 8:30 – 12:30 for our students in need. Thank you HSC, Xilinx, Almaden Valley Counseling Services (AVCS), and Eastfield Ming Quong (EMQ) for providing our excellent counselors Jeneen, Thedy and Monica.

Construction Update
Parking: Again I want to thank everyone for being patient, flexible and following the traffic flow of morning and afternoon drop off and pickup. Please continue to be patient and careful as the wet season begins. Over the next few months, we will be changing some of our parking slots and traffic flow. We will continue to keep you informed of these changes as we get the information from the architects.
In a related note, please have your student to come to the Student Services Center and register their car with our health clerk, Ms. Silva. Most students have registered and have a sticker on their car. For those students who have not registered their car yet, please make this a priority because we will be writing up citations for unregistered cars in our parking lots in the near future.
Anticipated Construction: For the summer of 2012 renovation plans include the cafeteria and building a new Library and Bookroom where rooms 100 and 200 currently exist. Stay tuned for updates in each newsletter.
The SJ Public Library has adoped Learning Express, a new standardized test learning database.

School After School (SAS)
SAS has found a permanent home in Room 54 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. In this designated room we now have computer access, text books, and peer tutors. Students are able to work with support from 2:15 – 3:30. This is truly a “Homework Club” in the making! Students can volunteer or be sent. Either way, the result is better grades! For more information contact Mrs. Hoult or Mr. Hayashi.
