About Ms. Garceau

Hello Leigh!  My name is Laurel Garceau and I am a new Assistant Principal here at Leigh.  I attended Chico State for my undergraduate degree where I earned a double major in English and French.  I later got my Master of Arts in Teaching at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon.  I taught English and French in Oregon for the first seven years of my teaching career.  I moved back to California in 2004 when I got a job at Leigh teaching English and French from 2004-2008.  I later moved to Branham High School where I taught French for 8 years.  After teaching for 25 years, I am excited for a change to administration.

I met my husband, Roland, while I was teaching at Leigh High School and he was helping with the music program.  We had a son, Luka, in 2007 and we all moved to Montreal, Canada for three years.  Luka is a freshmen this year at Prospect High School, my alma mater.

I look forward to working with all of the stakeholders of the Leigh Community.  This will be a great year!
