Athletic Department

After the past week and a half of several messages from the state, county, and district level regarding the extension of the stay at home order through 5/31, here is the most up to date information for Leigh Athletics as of Friday 5/1.  Even though there are reports of more outdoor activities being allowed, the fields and facilities are still closed at Leigh High School per District and school site directives.  This means that we will not be holding any practices or contests for our Spring sports at this time.  As always during this pandemic, directives may change in the coming weeks, and we will issue updates as the situation changes.

At this time for Spring Sports teams I will be contacting the coach and teams individually about turning in uniforms for those individuals who wish to do so, as well as to see how each team is planning to recognize their seniors.  I would encourage seniors to submit their own individual video to the ASB Leadership Class, as they put together a video honoring senior spring athletes.

In regards to Summer and Fall workouts for all sports, we will not be holding any sports camps for the community on the Leigh campus this summer.  In addition all workouts, including weight room, open gym, and open field are still suspended for the summer until further notice.  On Thursday 4/30 CCS Commissioner Duane Morgan informed me that there are meetings scheduled for next week and the following week at both the CCS and CIF level where they will be laying out all of their plans for the summer and fall, to be enacted when the CDC and Santa Clara County Office of Health update the phases for re-opening of the state with regard to High School Athletics.  As those plans are enacted, and following CUHSD directives, we will provide updates.

On a personal note, I would like to extend my appreciation to all of our athletes, coaches, and families that have been understanding and resilient during these very tough times.  Thank you to all of our competitors who know that we have been working every step of the way to have you finish your season on the field instead of at home.  That goal has only been superseded by our desire to keep you and your families safe and healthy.  Finally to our seniors from our core four on the Admin Team, Mrs. Butler, Mr. Williams, Mrs. Adams, and myself; we started four years ago with you, and even though this conclusion is not what anyone had envisioned, we are appreciative, proud, and overjoyed with the way you have made Leigh a better and brighter place during our journey together over the last four years.  Thank you and congratulations Class of 2020!

You will need to register at AthleticClearance.com for any sports that you are interested in participating in next year.  Please make sure that you are in 2020 - 2021 year when you are registering. Once you have completed registration you will have access to the required Physical Form.
If you are interested in a specific sport please email the Athletic Director, and he will invite you through TeamSnap to join the sport(s) that you are interested in.  You will then receive updates and announcements through TeamSnap for the teams that you are signed up with.  Updates and announcements can also be found on this website on each team's page.
Neff has updated the Leigh High School Letterman Jacket.  You can click the link below and look at the new Leigh Letterman Jacket.  The basic model starts at $115 and comes in three different color options for the sleeves as well as your choice of either leather or vinyl for the sleeves.  If you wish to add additional items to your Letterman Jacket beyond what the basic cost includes, the cost of your jacket will increase.  If you would like to order a different style of Letterman Jacket please contact the Athletic Department.  Leigh does not receive any money from Letterman Jacket sales, but Neff does keep the costs as low as possible for Leigh students.  If you go anywhere else you could pay twice as much for a Leigh Letterman Jacket.
