Michael Posey

I am Michael Posey and I have served as an educator in the Campbell Union High School District (CUHSD) for the past 28 years.  I began my career as a history teacher at Westmont High School.  After teaching at Westmont, I entered CUHSD administration where I served the next 16 years as a Dean of Students (AP) at Leigh, the Vice Principal (Super AP) at Branham, the Principal at Westmont, and finally as CUHSD Director of Student Services. While serving my second year as Director of Student Services, I decided to return to the classroom an asked to return Leigh where I have taught history for the last seven years.

My home town is Monterey, California, where I graduated from Monterey High School, and then attended Monterey Peninsula Community College studying studio art and the art history.  I transferred to Cal Poly, SLO and completed my BA in History.  After Cal Poly, I moved back to the bay area, got married to my wife of 30 years (Valerie). We bought a home in the CUHSD community and raised our son (Ryan - recent graduate of UCSD) and our daughter (Elizabeth attending UCSB) in the public public schools here.

During those years, I continued my education at the graduate level at San Jose State University, where I earned my teaching credential, Masters Degree in Military and U.S. History, and Masters Degree in Education Administration with Administrative Services Credential.

I feel fortunate to be back at Leigh teaching a subject I love, and working with a great community of students, parents and staff.
