How to Participate
Heart Screenings
CUHSD and the school board is now requiring heart screenings for 9th and 11th grade student athletes. The Kyle J. Taylor Foundation will be doing the screenings on campus. The next heart screening date at Leigh is Tuesday, August 4th. The link to sign up is below. Cost is $20
Attached is the for 9th and 11th grade student athletes. Please complete the heart screening permission form and bring it with you to the screening.

Here are the three steps to follow to tryout for a sport:
1. Schedule a sports physical with a physician
- Sports physicals are scheduled at Leigh at the beginning of each season. The next rounds of sports physicals at LHS have been scheduled for Monday, August 3rd at 1:00pm in the Athletic Training Room. The physicals take place in the Athletic Training Room (cost is $30 CASH). Bring a copy of the Athletic Physical Form (see below) for the doctor to sign.

Students may also schedule a sports physical with their family physician. Bring the Athletic Physical Form (See Forms below) with you for the doctor to fill out. Student/athletes and parents complete the rest of this form.
- Students need one physical per year to participate.
2. Complete the online registration process
- In order to be eligible to participate in Leigh Athletics, athletes and parents must complete the online athletic participation requirement (https://athleticclearance.com/).
- Make sure you are in 2026 - 2027 year when you are registering. You will need to upload your completed Athletic Physical Examination Form to complete the process. 9th and 11th graders you will also upload your heart screening on athletic clearance. 3. Sign up for Parentsquare
- The Leigh Athletics Department uses ParentSquare for each team's communication.
- To receive communication from coaches, students and parents will need to join specific sports teams in Parent/StudentSquare. Here is a direct link to the groups section of Parent/StudentSquare.
- Students log in with your CUHSD Gmail via SSO (single sign on) and parents log in with the email you use/ registered with in aeries. An account is automatically generated for you, no need to sign up
