Who We Are

Welcome to Leigh High School, Home of the Longhorns
Leigh High School opened in 1962 and is one of five comprehensive high schools in Campbell Union High School District (CUHSD). Leigh serves residents in the areas of southwest San Jose and Los Gatos. Our school is committed to providing a well-rounded and dynamic educational, social, and emotional experience to our approximately 1800 students.
Leigh provides a comprehensive curriculum that includes instructional programs designed for college-bound, Special Education, and career technical education (CTE) students. Principal's Message
Since joining the Leigh staff as Principal in 2015, it's been my pleasure to work with some of the most dedicated educators, dynamic students, and supportive parents. Leigh is home to a comprehensive, rigorous academic program and offers a wide variety of extracurriculars to engage students. We strive to live by our values: Community, Integrity, and Growth.

Welcome to new and returning families. I encourage all parents to look through our website, read the weekly parent bulletins and connect to Canvas as soon as the accounts are opened in August. You can also follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to see what we're up to on campus.

There are many ways to get involved with Leigh's many booster organizations, and a strong partnership between parents and the school will ensure success for all students. I look forward to working with you this year and in years to come.

Go Longhorns!

– Kara Butler, Principal
Leigh's vision is to foster a learning community where we all strive for continual growth.
Leigh’s mission is to create a safe, caring learning environment that prepares students for success in their post-high school lives. This includes engaging in meaningful activities, using appropriate tools, thinking critically, problem solving, and applying analytical skills. Students, staff, and parents share the responsibility for advancing the school's mission.

We work together to create a safe, inclusive community where everyone values diversity and feels a sense of purpose and belonging.

We learn through curiosity, collaboration, willingness to take risks, steady effort, and reflection.

We conduct ourselves with honesty and responsibility, fostering accountability in our authentic learning environment.
