About Ms. Bencomo

 

Hello, my name is Amy Bencomo. I am one of the school counselors at Leigh serving students with the last names Shi-Z. While I'm new to Leigh, I've been a part of the community for decades working and volunteering in local schools, county-wide youth initiatives, and international youth empowerment groups. I am an advocate for anyone under 25, under-served, or under-represented.

 

Originally from Texas, I began my first career in finance in New York, married in Italy, my children were born in Georgia, moved to Canada for a bit, and we have been catching our breath in California for the last 2 decades.

 

I earned my bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Dallas and my master's in school counseling from San Jose State University. I am passionate about education and access for all students. My goal is to empower students and to be an additional caring adult encouraging their autonomy and ownership of their education and future.
