About Dr. Yick

My name is Julie Yick and I am excited to serve as an Assistant Principal at Leigh High School!

I grew up in San Jose and Los Gatos before moving to Boston, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree from Harvard University. My teaching career began in Oaxaca, Mexico, where I taught English and ELD.

I am passionate about teaching and learning and before coming to Leigh I was a Social Studies teacher and the Ethnic Studies District Lead in the Mountain View Los Altos Union High School District. Prior to that, I taught Spanish in the San Francisco Unified School District. I earned my Masters degree and teaching credential from Stanford University and my Doctorate in Educational Leadership from San Francisco State University. 

Outside of work, I enjoy salsa dancing, hiking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
