Biography

My name is Kristina Fernandez and I am the newest addition to the school counseling team. I work with students who have last names between Li-Ror and am a recent graduate from Capella University's School Counseling Masters Program, with a certificate in Clinical Mental Health Theory. I completed my BA at Sonoma State University with a major in Sociology and a minor in Criminal Justice Studies.

As someone who went through Campbell Union School District, it has been a dream of mine to work in my home district and support students in their social and emotional development, as well as achieving academic excellence. Prior to starting at Leigh High School, I interned at Westmont High School, Monroe Middle School, and worked at Pacific Clinics as an Administrative Assistant. I am passionate about increasing knowledge of the criminal justice system through descreasing the school-to-prison pipeline, as well as mental health needs by raising more than $12K for suicide prevention since 2017.

I look forward to supporting Leigh's community through my role as a school counselor and encourage teachers, parents, and students to contact me via email or phone to set up an appointment!
