Welcome to the College & Career Center

 

The College and Career Center (CCC) provides resources for students and parents in their explorations of post-high school opportunities. Our College and Career Specialist, Nathalie Goricanec, collaborates with Leigh's school counselors and administrators to provide college and career support for all of our students. Mrs. Goricanec is supported by a team of parent volunteers. 

 

Browse through our website/come see us in Room 28 for help with:

• Extracurricular activity ideas (Internships, Volunteer opportunities, Summer programs, part-time jobs)
• Workshops on exploring careers and/or preparing for college, essay tips, building a balanced college list
• Appointments for one-on-one meetings with students
• General career exploration support (pathways, accessibility, salary comparisons)
• General college application support (help/advice on applications, major selection)
• College essay feedback
• Researching in-state and out-of-state colleges and universities
• Accessing resources for the college application process (books, handouts, presentations)
• Learning about Community Colleges: degree /certificate programs and transfer agreements to 4-year universities
• Finding dates/times of college visits, college fairs, SAT/ACT testing
• Researching scholarship and financial aid opportunities
• Learning about career pathways and job opportunities

 

Books are available for check out, including current SAT study guides and popular college guidebooks such as the Insider's Guide to the Colleges, the Fiske Guide and the 379 Best Colleges among many others.
