Bio for Kathryn Wassell

I have been teaching Spanish at Leigh for 5 years and AVID for 4 years. Before coming to Leigh, I taught middle school in the Cupertino Union School District and at an international school in the Philippines. Yes, I speak Tagalog (Pilipino) also! I received my BA and teaching credential from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, and my Master of Education degree from Utah State University. Originally I'm from San Jose and attended Blackford High School (CUHSD) before it closed. I lived in the Philippines for 22 years with my husband and our 4 children, often living in remote areas/islands, while working for a Christian non-profit. Outside of the classroom you will find me running, coaching cross country and track/field, and spending as much time as I can with our 17 month old grandson:)
