Welcome to Leigh High School, Home of the Longhorns! Leigh is home to a comprehensive, rigorous academic program as well as a wide variety of extracurriculars. We strive to live by our values: community, integrity, and growth. 

As of September 23rd, 2024, we have exciting news to share ... Leigh High School has been named a 2024 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education, one of only 13 high schools in California to receive this prestigious honor!

The recognition, announced by U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona, celebrates schools for excellence in academic performance or significant progress in closing achievement gaps among student groups.

Leigh High School earned this distinction as an Exemplary High Performing School, placing it among the top performers in California. This award acknowledges the dedication and collaboration of Leigh High’s students, educators, and community in upholding high academic standards and fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Leigh is excited to begin offering the State Seal of Civic Engagement (SSCE) to our students this year!

The State Seal of Civic Engagement is meant to:

Recognize young people who are already participating in and knowledgeable about our democracy

Encourage, and create pathways for, pupils in elementary and secondary schools to become civically engaged in democratic governmental institutions at the local, state, and national levels

Qualifying students will earn the seal and be awarded an insignia on their high school diploma. Please apply by Monday, April 14, 2025. These applications will be reviewed by a committee of site and district administrators as well as teachers. Students will be notified if they are being awarded the SSCE by April 25, 2025.
