Physical Education

 
The mission of the Physical Education Department at Leigh High School is to help students develop a lifelong commitment to their physical well-being, health, and fitness.  Emphasis is placed on coordination, balance, speed, endurance, reaction time, cardiovascular endurance, and teamwork.
 
 
Physical Education Sequence
 
Note:  Two years of PE is required to graduate. If a student does not take PE in 10th grade, they need to take their second year in 11th or 12th grade.

Other Physical Education Options
 
Sports PE: This is available to sophomores who have completed PE in 9th grade AND passed the 9th grade fitness test AND participated in two Leigh High School sports in 9th grade. Students who take Sports PE are required to participate in two Leigh High School sports in 10th grade.
 
Marching Band PE: This is available to sophomores who have completed PE in 9th grade AND passed the 9th grade fitness test AND taken Marching Band as an activity in 9th grade. Students who take Marching Band PE are required to commit to Marching Band PE in both 10th and 11th grade.
